Officer Kevin Leonpacher (who became a father to a second son on March 30) spotted a 2010 Gray Nissan Versa sitting on Greystone at Echota.  A male was asleep in the driver's seat.  When Officer Leonpacher woke the driver up, he admitted to using drugs and being too high to drive home.  He said he pulled over into the first neighborhood he saw.
 
The car was searched and the following were found:  over 21 grams of crystal meth, powder cocaine, crack cocaine, hydrocodone.  He was arrested and sent to Fulton County Jail and the car was impounded.

A trailer parked in front of an Overbrook home was burglarized in the overnight hours last night.  The trailer contained power tools and they were all taken, including an air compressor and nail guns.
 
The thieves were unable to cut the locks, so they cut the door brackets.  They had seen the trailer, wanted whatever was inside and came back prepared.
 
Reminder to all Collier Hills residents:  Please leave nothing of value in vehicles in front of your home or in the driveways.  Also, please leave nothing of value in unclosed garages or carports.  We are entering the time of year when we have traditionally had problems with car break-ins.

NEIGHBORHOOD ALERT


There have been reports about a black male that walks the CSX tracks by himself and screams and bellows to himself.  However, John Throckmorton at 1920 Ardmore Rd. told me he was in the Park with his family and the individual apparently now has become menacing to persons. John said that the man was throwing rocks at people from the tracks.  Thus there is a potential that someone could actually be injured if they are in the Park and the Track wanderer again starts throwing stones. I talked to Sgt. Barry Miller about the situation and he gave me the following advice:

Anyone going into the Park should always take their cell phone. If there is an incident with this person call 911 immediately and then the Neighborhood Patrol 404-224-3321. While calling move away quickly. Do not confront him.  Barry said that it is against the law just to walk on the tracks. So if you just observe him call the emergency numbers stated above. He doesn’t have to be throwing rocks to break the law.
 
If anyone detects that the individual walks the tracks at particular times, call the numbers above and convey this information to the Police.
